Lecture/Introduction: Brief intro to the internet and what possibilities come with the knowledge of using the internet and all of its resources.
Mon-Wed...
Intro to the web: For the first two days im going to introduce the students to the computer and access their knowledge and as I see how much they know about the internet, I will have them write a short paragraph of everything they think the internet can do.

Thur-Fri...
a. Power Point: 20 to 25 slides of the history of the internet. How the computer went from a large eye sorer to a small constructive piece of machinery and technology.
b. Lecture: Conversation between me and the students, asking questions about their own knowledge of the internet and what they believe it can be used for.
c. Assignment: Take home assignment. Asking student and parents to search a certain subject on the history of the internet that most intrigues them and write a paragraph on what they searched and found and have them turn it in on monday of the next week.

The Beginning to the End.

This assignment will be based on a 4 week process. It will begin by assesing the students knowledge of the world wide web and then that will allow me to see where to begin. In this project we will use the fact that the students know the basics of the internet and I can teach my 4 week program.
Week 1
In this week I will allow the students to apply what they know and send them home with an assignment to go home and print me off something that involves the internet.
Also, in this week I will lecture on the internet the good, bad and the ugly. What students should look for and what not to look for,
In the first week the kids will be introduced to one aspect of the Web 2.0 that I plan to involve in this project. The first week will comprise of me showing them the use of Wiki's.

The Bears,,,,AHHHH

Required Materials
Computers for a class of about 15-20 students and my own personal preverince for readings and what lesson I am teaching that week.
Anticipatory Set (Lead-In)

I will ask them if anyone has used a computer before and then send them home with an assignment by going home and typing a paragraph about something they like to do. If they do not have a computer then they can type it in class.
Step-By-Step Procedures

Not done with this yet.
Plan For Independent Practice

If any student is having trouble learning or not understanding the readings I will have them stay later or have them do some extra work to see if they can catch up.
Closure (Reflect Anticipatory Set)

Tests and final project or paper
Assessment Based On Objectives

The class will be based on how the students are doing in the class and if the assignments and lectures are sticking. I will be giving test or quizes at least once a week and asking constant questions, making sure I am interacting with them so they do not forget what I am teaching them.

What To Do...

General Goal(s)
In my research I have found that trying to use the web to help younger children is harder than trying to teach young adults. I have asked my little brother who is currently in the fourth grade, what they study and how they study it. He has given me answers like math, science and leave me alone im playing Halo 3, real affective in my trying to talk to him. The general goal I am going to try and achieve with this project is to write a lesson plan that helps children and their parents to become more involved with the capabilities of using the web, by using wiki's, and some creditable research sites.
Specific Objectives
Show how the world wide web is not to scary and can be a pleseant experience for famalies.
Grade Level
Between 3rd and 4th grades.
Required Materials
Basic knowledge of a computer and a very well designed and constructive lesson plan that will allow students to explore the world wide web without being distracted with useless material.
